Yes, the game is fun, yes it is good and all that, but what truly defines this game for me is how this game plays me. I created several custom characters with different traits and looks to resemble popular characters from other media. Apart from the usual favorite zombie media characters i created the Simpson family, several Doctors and Companions from Doctor Who, Rick and Morty, and so on. And each time my play style and experience is automatically different and somehow with the good but limited set of in-game options and background comes to life a complex and unique story with my favorite characters that i get involved in. If i play a Doctor/Companion run i can not refuse a call for help, if i play Bart i play reckless and comedic, Rick constantly irritates people and tells them to COOL IT and rips people off. I play the game and it plays me. In my opinion this is the defining quality of this game. And i love it.
