This game is great, but it isn't the wonderful game play that's making it come back to life after it almost died upon release. It's the great development team that's working on it, delivering huge updates and content regularly and all for free. You don't see those annoying micro transactions everywhere nor do you see updates packed into DLC for additional profits. You buy this game now and you don't just buy everything it currently has, but all the upcoming features and updates it will have for the future as well. The gameplay itself is fantastic to me as well. You get a survival element that I love. You can build your bases everywhere on land, in a cave or even underwater bases (which require different buildings and suits all together). I see they have added options to eat but no real benefits for it so far, maybe we'll see hunger bar in later updates. The planets are beautiful and unique and so are the life forms on them. I play the game on PC but I use an xbox controller for the flying and I advice everyone to do the same, the flying experience with a PC is not good (might I say even terrible). If you use a controller though the flying is good. The story is pretty interesting. The game makes you forget you are playing multiplayer until you randomly meet a "weirdly behaving NPC" that turns out to be another player, or you end up discovering the anomaly that usually has multiple other people in it. Keep in mind the game is cross platform and a lot of the PS and Xbox players don't really have an easy way of communicating by messaging so you'll meet a lot of players that just don't want to talk with you. The game is only going to get better with time (unlike some other games I had high hopes for like ED and SC that only end up disappointing you) . I think you will not regret purchasing this gem.
