If you want to unlock equipment, disguises, new starting locations or view mission challenges and get mission rankings (which you can do DRM free on Hitman Absolution), you have to be connected to IO's servers. When connected to their servers, you can enjoy having your single player game buffer if the connection gets weak, which was an improvement from the game throwing you to the main menu back when this first launched. This is half the game you can get on Steam (which also no longer has Denuvo, but who cares when you HAVE to be on their servers still) and a third of the game you can get on EGS. It has none of the improvements the other games offers and nothing exclusive to this version (the only potential exclusive was the Sarajevo Six missions only on PS4, which was only okay at best). Five years later and IO still has no plan to address the servers going down. A very real possibility since the day Square Enix let them go and the company was on its own before Hitman 2 was even announced. The only thing worse than this game existing in this state is GOG trying to sell this game as DRM Free. There is NO reason to buy this game here if you even think you want this game. You will get twice the missions with newer engine features on Steam with Hitman 2 and even more on the EGS version at the time of this review. After this, if you truly care about your games being DRM Free, you will have to do additional research to make sure any GOG game is truly DRM Free when it makes that claim. GOG can't be trusted on its word alone.
