The best part of this game compared to other similar genre (Age of Wonders etc) is you cannot spam unit to overpower your enemies. Every stack is on its own hence strategy, placement, spells, items are very important. I never felt like every turn you need to concoct potions, run spells to make your supply available and readily available to use.
As the description says - it is simple, light hearted, tactics RPG. Lots of customization, but the combat itself doesnt have lots of variety. No combo skills so you end up using basic skill almost every time. But simplicity still has its own merits - you think more instead of depending much on skills. Enjoyable although the story is too cliche it felt like some sort of sarcasm.
PROS: It's different from usual turn based tactical where you run into enemy and start hack n slash. Boulder is your best weapon, and how you utilize them to stun every enemies is really satisfying. CONS: Campaign is too short. Would be better if they would add more stories and maps. Characters had same design but differs only in color.
Bought this on Launch Week Special, I will minus one star for this version is actually not complete version of the game. For OST they gave MP3 and FLAC for two albums; Echoes of Erebonia (OST sample) contains 5 tracks. Twilight Resonance contains 5 tracks from Echoes of Erebonia + 15 additional tracks = 20 tracks. But true complete OST contains 60+ tracks so a bit of disappointment. For Mini-Artbook they gave 24 pages of 'simplified version of Artbook' titled Black Records. It only contains 5 main characters from CS3 - pictures with no text. Some illustrations and background paintings. Feels like demo version of real Artbook. Artbook contains 128 pages title The Complete Black Records. It contains all playable characters from Cold Steel, Trail in the Sky, Ao no Kiseki with their descriptions. Even some of the villains (Rutger, Duvalie, McBurn etc) More background paintings, concepts, sketches. Few machines, vehicles, weapons sketches and concepts (Valimar, Bobcat, armies, Altina sword etc) the only DLC included is Standard Cosmetic which gives you Standard Costume, Magical Girl and Swimsuit Bundle (which sold separately for USD 30+) I'm hoping for some high quality printable wallpapers but the illustrations will do I guess. Is it worth extra USD20? They took my money already so I will take it as worthy collectibles XD The game itself doesnt need explanations. This is the ending of CS saga and part of the great story of Legend of Heroes. Even if gameplay not changing much, missing this one will give a hole in your LoH world. A must buy for the fans.
The polygon art is captivating, story is intriguing, but I think the decisive factor for me to buy the game is this demo. The battle system is clunky - gridless means your character can attack enemy from far without sacrificing AP to move. It also means attack is a sure swing - either hit or miss, and you cannot run to save your life. Most of the features - character building, inventory, weapon also simplified and it keeps my mind at ease. I guess I'm enjoying the game mostly to run through the story.
in one of the mission I damaged all 4 mechs and it tooks 3 months to repair them all. it means you have no income for those 3 months and paid MechWarrior salary for basically doing nothing XD. I hope they tuned it to give cheaper basic salary and raised it up by the number of mission done over the month. overall this game is great, graphic is beautiful, even missed shot looks awesome; my missile missed the target and explode on the hill behind beautifully. must buy for turn based fan. note: played for 6 hours and no crash/bug so far.

Rean is back with improvement over the previous serie. The town is memorable, fight include more features and a bit customization to Orbal system. Some will feel annoying, some will be pleased with the changes. Must buy for jRPG fans.
