One of my favorite games when it was new (once a long time ago). Unfortunately, GOG's packaging was completely broken for a long time on Win 10 (spontaneously crashed before even reaching the main menu). Nowadays, a game can be started, but the rendering is simply unplayably slow. It's impossible to have a good time even by the most forgiving standards. GOG, if you see this: _please_ fix the issues. It's a great Good Old Game, and you simply don't deliver here.
This turn-based game is top 5 I have ever played in my life. It has been some years since first release, but the versatility and simplicity YET complexity still gives me continuous hours of "just one more turn". It's just a brilliant game. If having a few dollars left, I recommend purchasing this and the successor series HOMM3- well spent money on high level entertainment.
