Besides the obvious technical issues that actually froze my entire GOG account (thanks Twitter support person for the assistance, I truly appreciate the effort :) ), this game is many flashing lights and nothing else. The atmosphere is great and the tale's setup is tense, but 15 hours in, I cannot recommend the game in its current state - both from story or gameplay perspectives. There is simply nothing to do and the story excludes your active participation. Pretty much a massive QTE for 50USD. In short, it's just a better Watchdogs with Bethesda-level bugs. And the shoddy launch is not even comparable to that of the Witcher 3, as at least the progression system and story of Geralt involved you - the player. Avoid if you are looking for what one would expect of CD Projekt Red at this stage. That publisher and developer is gone. There is no love and care to be found in the streets of Night City. It's all waypoints, recycled weapons, faux-loot, and janky graphics. Though it can be beautiful to see characters smirk in front of glistening streets, the story and gameplay loop is beyond dull. Would recommend you buy this on a sale 2 years from now, to merely look back on what all the fuss was about on the 10th of December, 2020. P.S. Shame on your executives for setting a review embargo to hide the unplayable state of the console versions. Was it not bad enough that you crunch your employees and hijack their bonuses with Metacritic scores? Why not pull your loyal customers down in your gross decline into the realm of EA and Activision? Glad to know investors mean more to you than the fans and developers that actually make CD Projekt Red. Ironic that this game is about corporate vapidity and craven executives/management.
