I tried playing the game 2-3 times to get the game mechanics right, even that I still have to be careful as one misstep could mean I am stuck at the current level and/or unable to progress. Were this is "regular" game I would have given up, but the Void is no ordinary game. The graphic is so strange but also beautiful, the music is also beautiful in kind of haunting way, the sound effects are great, and inhabitants of the Void ... well just see for yourself. There was nothing like it and I suspect there will not be for quite some time. Worth to try if you are looking for a very different gaming experience.
Okay you probably read some other reviewers here mentioned very correctly that the game just would not "click" initially. Somehow after the intro and a little bit of playing a very incompetent main character you probably feel that the game just joking around with shallow humor. Fortunately I remember when the game "clicks" for me, and I will share it with you. It is when your character is standing, doing nothing, and then suddenly there is this subtle vibration around you, a little bit of shake, a little bit of dust falling.... that is when the the city of Anachronox rearrangge itself like some massive and crazy Rubik's Cube, and you live on it (and somehow got bored of the awesome fact). And when you (at least me) stop playing and consider this and think,"what kind of game is this? why this setting?" then you realize the game is probably much more deeper than you previously think. If you decide to continue playing then you will be in for a very pleasant surprise. You will laugh, you will fight, and you will feel DRAMA, something that is very rare in a game of any kind in any history. Buy it. Play it.
I cannot believe my eyes when I opened my mailbox today. The Witchers EE for less than USD5?? For those who do not have it yet then please exercise just some some finger muscle and buy the game. This great adult RPG will be a worthy addition to your collection! I won't repeat the reviews here, most of them have been correct anyway. Adult-themed RPG where your decision matters. Blood splattered fights everytime with amazing finishing moves. Funny dialogs with dark humor. Political intrigues everywhere. Stunning graphic and convincing setting/weather which you will rarely meet in other games (if ever). What else? There is one of my favorite surprise in the game which is somewhat a spoiler so be warned **** you WILL replay the intro. Go watch the intro somewhere and ponder how are you going to translate that into a meaningful and entertaining game quest (which you will find in this game). Enough talk. Go buy the game. You will not regret it.
