Not good, I'm afraid.

The graphics are good, although the relatively high resolution and gridless feel of the world remind me too much of Arcanum and not enough of Planescape. The bad parts are the combat and the writing, which two parts pretty much make up all of the game except for slowly walking around. The combat is dull and drawn out and is basically trading hp,mana and stamina potions for xp. The non-regenerating nature of hp,mana and stamina and the way your equipment breaks over time is extremely tedious. The writing. I actually gave the 2nd star for the fact there is a lot of text in the game. There's a lot of dialogue options and lots of lore and story, which is good. Unfortunately it's all written seemingly by some European person for whom English was a second language: "I'll say you goodbye in that case", "we have hope till we breathe!", "Is there any problem in it?!".

Time has not been kind to this game

When it first came out I bought this and finished it multiple times. I loved it and couldn't get enough of it. The graphics were actual 3d! It was so cool. These days though the graphics are very low poly (which isn't too bad) but also very badly animated. Textures warp and judder. While diablo 2 still looks good today, this doesn't, unfortunately. The gameplay also seems to have lost its charm over the years too but I haven't got that far in it yet.

Syndicate Wars™

This is not nostalgia. This is quality

This game has solid, chunky graphics that just ooze cyberpunk style and going round shooting people is enormous fun, especially after building up a huge army of civilians using the persuadatron. Later on the missions have stealthy/strategic planning or trap-setting elements and the game is just amazing. It cannot be faulted.

Screamer 2

It has such a good "feel"

Ignore the older graphics. This game has just such an amazing feel. The ways the cars handle is undoubtedly not that realistic but for an arcade racer, this is very well designed. Steering round corners is something you will fail horribly at to start with but then after a few games you will get the hang of it and be mumbling under your breath "that's the best you've ever taken that corner" while bemused family members look at you strangely.
