This is just one of the most classic PC games ever. I thought we would never see PC games get to the heights of "classic" again after the golden age (around the turn of the millennium basically) but this manages it. It is incredibly addictive even in single player, progressing your character's base and equipment. Once you have the best equipment you can get then you may get bored at that point (but it could take 100 hours), or you may get into building for its own sake, although minecraft is better at that aspect.
The graphics have a distinct and pleasing style. At least in normal mode though, it feels like you really don't have that much control. Most of the time you feel a kind of brain itch like when you try to take a match from a box and light it with one hand.
This is a fantastic, polished, amazing game that will keep you happy for years. Be warned though that you don't get the daily challenge mode. This is a mode where the seed is set to a known seed for the date so everyone can compete on the same level. Even though there's no way to have leaderboards etc. like on steam, it would be nice if you could at least play the daily challenge and talk to your friends about it. Brogue (free roguelike) and many others do this.
