I was absolutely expecting more from this game having played Witcher 3. Training part is broken and prevents progression. Oh well. Combat is not well executed and repeated deaths (even on standard level) in the prologue makes this it a repetitive chore to play. Fighting the same 3-4 enemies (yes, I know it’s early in the game and there will be other enemies along) but 20 times in a row – not very interesting. Confusing interface. In a dungeon suddenly a timer starts with a heart, symbolizing me or some else dying. I don’t know. There were some texts on screen, I didn’t get to read before it was gone. Likewise the whole setup with me being in captivity telling a story to somebody. It might work on paper, it might work for somebody who played Witcher 1 and knows the entire story. For all the effort put in to this game I’m very disappointed. Best part so far is naked Trish. I know her from Witcher 3 and looks like she is/was a better character in Witcher 2, but the rest – a huge disappointment.

Maybe we never got the sequel because Alpha Protocol is just so good a follow up can only disappoint. I've got 132.8 hours logged on Steam for this game. In a year, max two I will play it again adding another 30h+ to playtime grinding everything. I might even try to play something else than non-lethal stealth which I've always done. Alpha Protocol has it all. Great story, mystery/detective, master mind plan, action shooter, romance, RPG and (kind of) Open World , fractions/allies/enemies, great characters, choices matter. I just had to write a review because GOG labeled this "Good Old Game" and I totally agree. I'll forget about the 'old' when you play and this is a must play. They should have made a sequel. Bastards.
