I love Grim Dawn, imo it's as close to a masterpiece a game gets Lets preface this with the obvious; ofc it's not perfect, no game is, it has its small "flaws" here and there, but dang do Crate strive to try and push Grim Dawn up there on the scale of quality After losing my interest in ARPGs around 2013/2014, mainly due to the repetitive inherent nature of the genre and the excessive grind some games "rely" on, and lack of decent/interesting creation/progression etc, i "turned my back" on the ARPG genre as a whole and kinda wrote it off as something i'd probably not bother to return to Despite that, in march 2014 the development of Grim Dawn caught my eye, and added it to my wishlist, but didn't back it on kickstarter/buy into early access ^oh boy have i regretted that It wouldn't be until 2017 that i "caved" and gave into my curiosity and bought Grim Dawn when i was bored with other games, for 13$ even. And omg was that the best 13$ spent. almost 3000 hours later and i think it's safe to say that not only did Grim Dawn bring back my love for ARPGs but made me fall madly in love with it, and it's the only ARPG that have grabbed me on this level and playtime since Diablo 2 The character building is so diverse varied, (while remaining viable), that it's like it has no end, and i keep making chars after char alt after alt to try different things out. It's not just one of the best singleplayer ARPGs ever, it's one of the best ARPGs ever. And they(Crate) keep adding to the game and updating it and tweaking balance, where other devs would have moved on long ago when there wasn't a "live service"/mtx market to milk. Absolutely fantastic, and the only thing that saddens me is that it's unlikely i'll live to see Grim Dawn get a sequel, but am i glad i at least got to experience this game and had all this time with it.
