How can a game that is literally a progression of low resolution images and 2d animations have performance issues. How can my 1080ti which runs Fallout 4 at 4k at 60fps stutter and lag when running this? The answer to both these questions is fire one or more of the probably overpaid art team and hire someone who knows how to optimize a game. Sunless skies is a beautiful game that runs the way I would expect it if I traveled back in time and installed it on the Windows 95 PC I used to play Riven on when I was 11 years old. What makes its lack luster performance even more disappointing is the pathetically low resolution of the game world. There is no reason that simplistic graphics such as these aren't rendering at high resolutions. Instead what you get is blurry, barely 1 K textures which severely impact the quality of an otherwise expertly designed setting. tl;dr a beautiful concept hampered by poor optimization and low image quality
It's one thing to make a perfect ARPG. Its another to do so along with a consistent and compelling theme throughout.
An elegant utilization of simple resources to make a vast and intricate rpg. If you are a fan of tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons, there's really no reason not to purchase. I really hope that they continue updating and open it up for modders. If they do then this could grow into something amazing.
After tweaking every graphical setting I can not get any result that is not full of so much flickering and stuttering that it hurts my eyes. I have enough gpu and cpu to launch this old game into orbit. Pathetic that it still runs like a broken down Chevy.
Regardless of how good a game is in story or writing or art design, if it is broken it gets one star. The greatest game ever is of no consequence if it is so buggy it can not be played. Such is the state of New Vegas. Unless you are very lucky you will crash, you will stutter and you will bug. If you enjoy spending twice the amount of time you spend playing just getting the game to be functional then by all means buy this game, but if you really enjoy software repair that much I'd instead get an IT job and get paid for your time instead of paying Bethesda for the privilege of fixing their broken game.
Finally a first person RPG which has both good story and an open world. Incredibly fun to play for the tactically minded since the world is so open there are nearly endless ways to approach any problem. Add to this excellent voice acting, good character models (I could feel that face grease yuck!), and top notch animation. In nearly every category this game is leagues above every other so called 'AAA' game. I guess that what happens when you focus on the actual game. Gamers should buy this to support a studio which is doing things right.
Completely unplayable. Shipped with known issues regarding lag and fps. This game will literally give you a headache as you watch stilted animations that played smoothely 15 years ago on ancient computers. And that is if you can get it to start. For me it starts as a black screen which forces you to manually close it with task manager which, for some mysterious reason, then makes the game viewable. Do not buy this trash. Your memories of the game will look better.
Game is unstable and crashes constantly. It is not patched up to run on modern 64 bit OS and you will likely be unable to finish the game unless you get your computer via a time machine. Please correct this as unpatched unstable games is the reason I came here from Steam.
KCD is a flawed gem which likes to punish the player for its own flaws. However, it is moddable and thus salvagable. Graphics are also stunning and characters well written. However without mods it would be very hard to optimize graphics as the settings are too general. Without mods this game would be 2 stars due to its severe and many irritations. With mods it jumps to 4 since you can easily fix most of them. Please learn from this entry guys. Now that Bethesda has fallen into the all consuming darkness of online microtransactions, we need someone to step up and make good moddable 1st person single-player western rpgs. I think you can be this developer and I'm going with the four star rating in the hopes that you keep improving, keep your games moddable and devoid of sleezy cashgrabs.
