Best adventure game in YEARS

That. Was. AWESOME. Best and most compelling point-and-click I've played since GK2! And it's got some real replay value. Going for game 2 right now!

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition

fantastic if flawed game

I don't know where all the hate for this game is coming from! The atmosphere is sublime, the choice of music is inspired, and the setting - Washington DC? so awesome. Not to mention you can mod the heck out of it! Like every Bethesda open world RPG, it has its fair share of bugs, but after all this time, most of them have been addressed. Now, if you're coming from the original Fallout games, this is something different. I feel like it retains the spirit of those games, but they are in many ways apples and oranges. But the wandering and the discovery - always something new to find. With all the DLC, I sunk 144 hours into this on Steam, and I'm going to drop the money to own it DRM-free.

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers

I worship this game

It's hard to believe it's been almost 17 years since this sublime work of interactive fiction was released. I was all of 12 years old when I first played it and I'm happy to say, it ruined me for all other games of this style. Not even The Longest Journey, which I consider to be a masterpiece, quite measures up to it in my book. The mix of Tim Curry's exaggerated yet perfect New Orleans drawl, the gripping story, the colorful art, and the music, oh my god, THE MUSIC in this game leaves me breathless even after all this time. Even as I approach my 30s, I have yet to find this game's equal in my heart.
