Fallout: London

Not for me?

I was really excited to try this out when it was announced. It even came out on my birthday last year. I haven't played on the new updates, so it's possible that the game runs better than it used to. But this just feels bad to play. It's honestly hard navigating around the city because everything is closed off. London would be much easier to navigate if there were more broken fences, destroyed buildings you could walk through, etc. Isn't London famous for being bombed during wartime? You'd think that adding holes in buildings would give it some wanted British flare, while making it easier to get from point A to point B, but post-apocalyptic London seems to be surprisingly well-kept. Every time I wandered somewhere looking for a shortcut so that I didn't have to navigate London's grid system, I was blocked and disappointed. Even if exploration felt good, this mod runs poorly. The only reason I even bothered to play all the way through Fallout 4 was because the combat felt good to play, but that doesn't translate here. It's like they tried to implement the jankiness of FO3/NV combat into Fallout 4. Shooting, switching weapons, pretty much everything feels bad. There have been two patches released, which I admittedly haven't played, with patch 1.03 allegedly coming sometime. Maybe those fix the jankiness. idk. Writing isn't great. I hated every single character I came across, besides some of the ghouls you rescue early on. But those quests just felt bad, and the area was hard to navigate. Lots of NPCs in the little underground area, but no one very useful, and no one to talk to. Everything I encountered was very surface level, and unpolished. It was difficult to find vendors to trade with, and there wasn't really anywhere for your character to feel at home. I hope they finish polishing this up, and maybe run a little re-release campaign when 1.03 comes out (if it does). I'm sure lots of people would enjoy this once it's more stable, even if I'm not one of them.
