Hollow Knight scratched an itch that I hadn't had scratched since Symphony of the Night. At first I didn't get how the story was being told and when I got to late game I ended up rage quitting. After researching the story more and becoming a disciple of mossbag, I revisited Hollow Knight in it's entirety and ended up loving every minute of it, even the most difficult parts of the game. HK taught me a different approach to multiple aspects of gaming and has caused me to search out similar games. It's unfortunate that other games come up short more often than not but it's a testament to how well made this game is that I can just keep coming back to it when left wanting by other experiences.
