As of 23 Nov 2024, the game is a bit broken (shaders take forever to compile, you get some shimmer at times, framedrops on all settings mid with only high textures and high mods, event triggers sometimes do not run etc), but it is engaging, fully engrossing, filled to the brim with the feeling of the Zone as in previous Stalker games. I only experienced one crash, so not seeing the constant glitching as others have reported. It needs a bit of polish and patching, but hell, I am going to play as much as I can! At the moment 4 of 5 stars, but once it gets optimised, it will be full 5 stars and then some. Just to note, I am playing on mid gfx setting on a PC with these specs: RTX4060, 16gb RAM, i7 4770k, Crucial NVME M2 for fast asset loading PS - if your tutorial mission glitches, i.e. you cannot pick up the first artifact by the mobile lab, change the gfx setting e.g. form mid to high, an that should nudge the game and get the artifcat to appear. Worked for me!
Absolutely wonderful retro-styled point and click adventure game! The mood is reminiscent of Event Horizon or Dead Space, but the creators are weaving their own story even though they use the familiar 'tried and tested' tropes. Play style and feel might remind you of Sanitarium (if you played the game, if not then visit its GOG page immediately) and other classic 90s isometric adventures. It takes the best and delivers a solid story and decent puzzles, which are logical, and should allow any fan of the genre to progress through the game. This is the sort of adventure gaming that big studios should go for, dark unrelenting story, catering to the player, rather than purely oriented on generating income. Saying that - the game has a few little oddities, but the studio is quick to fix any bugs and/or odd behaviour, and considering it is designed and produced by two brothers, I say big kudos to them and keep up the good work!!!
Same as Deus_Ex, I must admit I loved Harlan Ellison's short story, and loved the game when it first came out. (I believe I first played the demo of the game, which I found on a now-deceased Polish games magazine's CD - Secret Service.) It swooped me of my feet with its dark, gritty suspense and horror laden atmosphere. One cannot help but feel the oppressive watchful eye (sensor?) of AM on the characters. The story is brilliant. Game is beautifully drawn. A true gem for a discerning, mature player! (I suggest reading the short story first!)
