Rise of Industry

Just not ready yet.

Looks great, runs fine. Feels incredibly clunky with a real lack of depth. There are some really interesting features in there - a dynamic region economy and towns responding to how you build/expand - but the actual gameplay just isn't there. You are given a dynamic economy, but then the 'tech tree' specialisation system pigeonholes you into a single type of industry, leaving you unable to actually respond to the economy until much later. I hope this game gets good, but it needs much more polish before it is ready for prime time.

99 Levels to Hell

Not bad, but kind of underwhelming.

Simply put, it feels very unpolished. An action/platformer roguelike it may be, but it doesn't do the platforming or the roguelike well enough to be all that noteworthy. This is even disregarding the graphics, which are 'okay', but just don't really come together or have any stylistic appeal, although I will admit that is very subjective. Fun if you like this sort of thing, but I would spend my money on Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, or as a charitable donation while I play Spelunky and 'real' roguelikes.
