Works well in Windows 11, poor that it has limited options for screen resolution. My Logitech G305 mouse has twitches in the main menu, else everything plays fine. This game is like a mummy, after so many years a buyer can play the game released at the times of Windows XP. This is great espionage game, the storyline resembles s1960s and 1970s spy films. The flat and cartoonish graphics is splendid, all that BOOMs, CLICKs, TAPs and blast wave screen shakesare marvelous. This game is like no other, I strongly recommend.
Gosh, almost 20 years lies between the original and the remake! I cannot believe that I played the original on disk before gaming cloud services were even invented! The graphics is different, in the new one it's more like 3D and realistic, in the original it's flat and cartoonish, I like the latter. Comparing to the original version this seems to lose 'espionage fleur', gameplay is more like regular action shooter. More enemies 'per inch' and Jason Fly is like real die-hard. Poor that several storyline cinematics are missing. Poor that to listen for enemy TAP-TAP-TAPping the player have to crouch, this keeps the player away form 'stealth'.
Plays well with Xbox 360 gamepad in Windows 11. Reminisced the old times when I first played it with disk version, this site doesn't even existed at the times. The good news is that the remastered works well and doesn't contain any bugs. A player should forgive the developers a perplexing storyline and massive flurries of QTEs, at the times this was their second game. In later games they got all fixed up.
Если бы игра вышла бы сейчас, то ее назвали бы сырой и баговитой. Относитесь к ней как к раннему представителю современного жанра ужастиков от первого лица, плюс отличная реализация атмосферы Лавкрафта. Баги есть, механика "желеобразная", иногда играть некомфортно. Особенно раздражает скриптовые "вселения" в голову игровых персонажей, потому что не сразу понимаешь обстоятельства и время происходящего. Если не обращать внимания на вышенаписанное, то с удовольствием пройдете игру до конечных титров. Но в финале все-таки пришлось использовать патч увеличивающий скорость движения персонажа.
I remember playing it back in 2004, at that moment Far Cry was at the pinnacle of shooter evolution, first sandbox-like! Today, in the beginning of 2022 this game seem not to be as fresh and hi-tech as before. Not writing about graphics, but storyline and game mechanics. This game is ideal for player who wants to relax, who does not like rich and complex storyline, who wants simply to shoot.
