Mafia III: Definitive Edition

The game itself is great but...

Let's start with the fullscreen crash at launch. For this version of the game to work, you gotta turn off the fullscreen in the launcher, launch it, head over to the settings, set V-Sync to off, turn on the Fullscreen, turn the V-Sync on again and only then you can play. As if this was not enough, I have lost count of how many times it just crashed out of nowhere, with no logical reason. It happended during cutscenes, in the middle of missions or just free roaming. I loved the gameplay overall, but there was not a single time that I played this game without cursing it and calling it names because of these technical problems. Honestly, it's very frustrating.

Bad Additional Content

The main game is great, but the additional content is poor. I hate the whole arcade concept. Who cares about points in a game like this? Makes no sense to me. Also, the 2 Jimmy's DLCs are so frustrating and punitive. There are no checkpoint in any of the quests, which means you f**k up or die for bad luck and you are right back to the start. And there are some quests that are so long, you have drive across town and if anything happens, you have to do it again. Joe's Adventures gave me a little bit of hope with the first quest, thah actually had checkpoints, but right after that, we're back to the arcade style, which sucks. There is also, the poor optimization that is persistent in the main game and all DLCs.

Great game

Even though it's not actually an open world sandbox game like I expected, it's pretty good. Great story, great graphics, great performance overall.
