Satellite Reign

very high end PC needed

the System requirements need to be updated, i have a pretty good laptop with 8GB of ram and this thing struggles to run on it. it's almost playable on the lowest resolution but at that resolution i am having trouble reading the onscreen text, also it's not true fullscreen there are black borders on the sides. this game looks like it could be really good but we are off to a rough start, i suggest you have a really good video card, 3GHZ CPU and no less than 16GB ram, then it should run good.

Delta Force 2

it's not bad despite it's flaws

it's pretty much like the 1st game maybe slightly better(but not by much)it uses that same voxel engine thing so the visuals are kind of janky, the idea behind that was to make a 3d game that would run good on low spec systems while having the illusion of textures?(i guess), the game suffers from major clipping issues(soldiers and the player tend to sink into the ground when dead)gameplay is very repetitive and can become dull and boring. the good news is it includes a mission editor so you can make your own missions, i LOVE mission editors, i wish every game had them. i got it on sale, give it a try next time it's on sale. my only other issue is the lack of resolution support, when playing on my big screen tv using HDMI i can't get it full screen because it won't let me set it any higher than 800X600 or something like that? so i' am stuck playing it in a small window with borders.

DOOM II

it's not bad, but...

to really enjoy DOOM and DOOM2 you need 2 programs......the 1st thing you need is ZANDRONUM or something similar to make the controls play more like modern first person games and the 2nd MUST HAVE program is BRUTAL DOOM(any version will do)although the dosbox versions of this game will let you run in OPENGL things are done simpler in zandronum, the only thing YOU need for these programs to work is either the DOOM or DOOM2 WAD, problem is it can't be found in these versions? seems to be hidden somewhere? so if you happen to have an actual hard copy version of doom/doom2 then get zandronum and brutal doom instead of this.

Project Warlock

buggy and unpolished

game looks like it's from the 90's but you probably need an alienware gaming pc to run it, i had to turn the quality to low just to get something that feels like a framerate, also had to turn off the stupid motion blur thing to make the game playable, some other options wouldn't allow me to toggle them, a bug maybe? this game seems to need a very high end pc but considering the visuals this doesn't make much sense to me? not impressed.

Privateer 2: The Darkening

sound but no game window ever opens?

why can't they get these DOS games working? i have to stop wasting my time with these DOS games that either don't work at all or have some other issues, i tried playing around with the config for this thing but had to give up all hope. sometimes you just want to play a game and not waste time trying to figure out why the game won't work, my advice to you is stay away from any games that need to use dosbox.

Gothic 2 Gold Edition

so hard to review this

how do i give a fair review? many people LOVE this game, as for myself i feel like i am fighting with the controls, it just doesn't FEEL RIGHT to me? maybe it's because i am coming from games like OBLIVION and SKYRIM? but i just can't get into this game. if it ever comes to a game console like an xbox or something then i would probably be willing to give it a chance? i don't know what to say, there must be a solid RPG in there somewhere if you have the patience to find it, but i have to find something i like about it so i will say this as a plus....AT LEAST IT STARTS AND RUNS, unlike the first GOTHIC that i could not get to work on 3 different Windows OS, so at least there is that one thing going for it. to the die hard fans of this game i say i am sorry, i am sorry that i could not find whatever bliss you found in this game. controls for me are not the only problem but they are the main problem, feels buggy too. maybe i will revisit this title years from now when i'am in my senior years and give it a second chance?

Seven Kingdoms 2 HD

not for dummies like me

if you enjoy games like AgeOfEmpires2 and such games then steer clear of this game because it was not made for you or me! the 90 page manual should have been my first hint, so unless you are adept at playing chess you probably won't like this game much. i tried to follow the tutorials but i'am still lost? game just isn't very intuitive OR much fun, enjoy watching paint dry do you? then maybe this game is for you?

Strike Commander

advanced for it's day

i remember seeing this game in the 90's and the visuals blew away anything else at the time, but these DOSBOX games from GOG just never seem to run right? i mess around in the configuration and it makes no difference man! slowdown/jitter/lagging SUCKS. why can't we ever get games that run proper? no sound issues, no stuttering just give us smooth gameplay. this is a pretty good game ( when it runs proper ) but this game doesn't!!!
