It's simply a classic turn based game, one so good they remade it years later with modern graphics, XCOM 2
One of the best games ever made. Yes, it ''seems'' simple by todays standards, but simply because this and others by Sid Meir's redefined gaming.
This is one of the titles that makes or breaks a genre. A classic tactical fantasy from the past, 50-60 hours of play (At least), variability, and it's still got a LOT of playability, even though it was originally released in 1999, it has been upgraded.
Got a ''dicount'' notice from GOG, AU $145.20 down to AU $43.59. It seemed like kind of costly before the discount, but Epic games was still cheaper, prior to the sale, and with a similar discount. I had never heard of Epic games before, I will be looking at them more now though...
OK, so I have played Fallout 3 before, bought it here again, and can't get it to run out of the box, whereas I have a box edition that runs fine... ( I can also buy a steam key via a subsidiary for about 1/9th of the asking price here (Yeah, I did get it on sale here though, so much less). It's a COMMON, known fault in setup, FFS GOG, fix it....
I love SMAC, and the easiest way to play with the Aliens is by going into the game files and send the Terranx file to the desktop (Make a link). I usually have a folder labelled ''Games'' that I put all of my current games and long time favourites, to save clutter on the desktop, but the Terranx file is rarely moved
