game mechanics is very similar (next to identical) to Mutant Year Zero - it even copies the same bugs (or are they features?), luckily nothing game crashing. You also stalk a lot, snipe enemies and hoard one-and-only resource available. Even skill tree is very alike. Bearded Ladies are earning themselves a subgenre named after them :) like in some other industry-standard it offers variety of builds, but You'll somehow always end up as stealth archer (sniper in this case) game is not too short, not too long - quite well balanced, too - i haven't found an easy way to abuse game mechanics. plot is fairly well written - all the notes that reveal the history piece by piece, the main hero storyline, the world history - they all nicely come together, with fewer loose ends than in MYZ (not that I don't like open endings). Final battle is a disappoinment, though.
it is true that game is a bit too easy - anyway it is addictive as hell, and absolutely fun to play. also - what makes this game so easy is that solid resources are available instantly everywhere, and that resources extracted using cultivators are infinite. so if You're looking for some proper challenge - well You're not gonna find it here.
game offers very little freedom (if any at all), yet i had great time playing this game. story holds some interesting secrets till quite late stage, characters seem real persons and game has pretty grim atmosphere... if i had to nag on something, i'd say that lack of proper fear caused by rats. they are too predictible, there are almost no moments in game where my heart was beating faster
In short: I really liked this game. would be 5 stars if only it was longer... Strongest side of this game is story - post-apocalyptic world as seen from in-game character perspective appears mystical and a bit grotesque. The way mutants talk about hi-tech, machines and old world gives out how magical it is, and i immediately bought this narration. Completing the game does not reveal too much about it, and exploring it feels good thanks to this. Mechanics also nicely fit into the game, perhaps skills tree is something to improve, but in general it is great. PS. I hope there will be a DLC or expansion...
