The updated graphics & game play in Doom 2016 is excellent. I know I am in a huge minority but I am one of the few players who really wants to play these shooters for the story with partial immersion... I mean 'parital immersion' as I like to use cheats!! LOL!! I was so looking forward to playing this only to discover that most of the cheats no longer work in this version - the only one that does is god mode once you enable the dev console. I only use god mode & unlimited ammo so I dont have to "think" when playing as I only play these for entertainment - not full immersion. To anyone considering buying this game, definitely do because the graphics, sounds, etc... are absolutely fantastic. The only caveat I want to add is about the cheats being disabled - to the few players out there that like to use cheats like me, I don't want you to be disappointed like I am. I would normally rate this game as 5 stars but I took off 1 star bacause of the lack of cheats.
Awesome!! I loved this game back in the 90's and now - thanks to GOG - I can love it again 20 years later!! The only criticism I have is that maybe the GOG team can include a readme.txt file listing the various dosbox options & how to do it in future. I ended up being able to find out about the full install (add "-i" to the desktop shortcut) so I could change the soundcard settings - but it should be something as part of the download. All I need to know now is "when is Privateer 2 coming out?" LOL!!!!
