A good short game in the line of Limbo or Inside but less grim. Great design, fantastic music, simple puzzles (i.e. you are not going to be stuck ofr hours). If you are looking for chill nice little game for the weekend. this is it. I really enjoyed my time. Whay not 5 stars, simpley becuase there is no surprised. It takes the usual game mechanics and does not reinvent the wheel.
God I remember well this game... After haveing played Morrowind in and out, I could not wait for Oblivion and bought it full price as soon as I could on Xbox360. It was terrible... but I finished the game hoping something good would come out of it. A lot of the flaws were already mentioned in terms of poor story (main quests and dlc), donjon design, boring side quests (if not broken) and most of all insulting levelling mechanics. No point levelling, the world level with you... Where the hell this idea come from? The point of a rpg is to be able to level up an beat the crap out of ennemies that you were stuggling with. I was so desapointed it that I never touched Skyrim after that as they continue in the casualisation of the series to make it more "Entertaining". Basically go for it if you are looking for an actiong ame, avoid if you look for a RPG!
I got this game for free thanks to GOG generosity ( I would have pay if I knew). I don't play as much games a I used to but this one brought me back to the good old days of loosing sense of time (go to bed a 4:00AM.......... I am sure the last timw I checked, 10 min ago, it was 11:00PM). Anyway as many people already mentioned this is a sand box game and you do what you want, you REALLY do what you want. I haven't read any guide or forums and this is great as you learn/experience while you wander in the world of Calradia. Of course you die (especially at the begining) a lot for being careless, greedy, etc... And loose everything but you learn from it. I haven't look at the mod community but apparently it's great. I recommend to any player willing to spend a bit of time and effort in learning from it. To tell you how much I like Mount & Bade, this is my first review ever and I played a lot of games... Buy it! Play it! Enjoy it!
