Deserves to be left as freeware, Utter garbage, Sound system is broken and doesn't work correctly (you have to fix it yourself) level design is utterly terrible, Keypresses are sluggish to unresponsive enemies swarm the hell out of you (as soon as one enemy sees you the rest of them see you and race to your current position, The weapons are underpowered almost useless the weather effects don't even save this one. This is from a person that used to own it unfortunately.
Played the demo, It's utter crap the AI cheats, The fights are bullshit and more often then not the enemies have too much of an advantage (and too much health) some unleashing up to 20 times on your character BEFORE you get a chance only to shoot you again and again especially with more then 1 enemy in other games you can Coax 1 enemy out from hiding nope not in this game the forced isometric angle is garbage maybe make it a bit more fair combat wise characters should NEVER be able to unload on you until it is their turn I would NOT buy this at all. Everything is WAY WAY overpriced which is just lame can you actually loot decent material off bodies? The story is good cross between the original SNES version of shadowrun and fallout games but more noir gritty but the combat JUST NO! The demo - DO WE ACTUALLY GET 1 MISSION answer is NO you get this stupid gauntlet of fights one after the other it's absolute garbage you have literally NO DECENT GEAR whatsoever whoever thought this was a good idea for a demo has been smoking tea bags.
This game is total garbage let me explain This game tries so hard to be system shock 2.5 it's got every element of shock 2 in it even a character called Danielle Sho, Gravshafts instead of lifts should have been called aftershock or something NOT prey it has *NOTHING* to do with the original prey 2006 game just bethsoft being D*cks. Would have preferred Prey 2. The levels are a terrible mess even in Outer space - Invisible walls Annoying clipping issues, monsters that strangely instakill you when you walk around corners, Generic Corridor syndrome, Places where you can get stuck on level geometry, Game Chugs even on my New PC not getting anywhere near 60 FPS annoying hitboxes that don't detect things properly, Immortal enemies that just WILL NOT DIE and kill you within 2 seconds flat. The Monsters are these shadow things that turn into things - Typhons? That is JUST LAZY spider things + fire, Ice, electricity ones Phantom + the same stupid floating robots that look ridiculous and are annoying - Do you want to here a JEAKE Pac man style floating "ghosts" that are near impossible to kill and that STUPID camera scanner thing oh yes lets scan these things WHILE they kill us in 2 seconds flat The difficulty spikes are truly horrendous - Lift level - 2 floating robots and a PAC MAN ghost = IMPOSSIBLE enough said Who thought it was a good idea to put PAC MAN style ghosts in this game The outside the station bits feel really unnatural and it is difficult to aim plus everything is floating even those one eyed ghost things The weapons are as under powered as 50 Grenade rounds and still that thing is running / floating around and to top it off the Enemies come in Varieties that can only be killed certain ways which is a pain! Game needs patches PRONTO!
Please GOG get this game working on windows 10 pro bought it when I had windows xp years ago game is Good like playing Edward carnby playing as Aline is Rubbish this game is a fun little time waster. The Graphics are Nothing special but get the job done, No Wide Screen options though which is bad. Characters do not suffer from consolitis disease but controlling them is 'STILL' a Chore as they turn around slowly. I like the writing especially in the books you find littered around, What I don't like is the invisible borders in the game, But can be forgiven as this game is older. I still prefer the Originals though as Aline has no weapons and has to rely on her flash-light to scare monsters away which makes this game IMPOSSIBLE to beat with her character. what hurts this game most is that it is STILL INCOMPATIBLE with windows 10 pro and I do not understand spanish so the so called "patch" is out of the question please GOG FIX this!
