Pros : 1. More complex story, more immersive, great athmosphere, more action 2 .More characters to play, each with different style of combat and motivation, which will make you take different approach in finishing the levels. My favourite is Evan the Writer and Alex & Ash. 3. Better Graphics 4. More challenging levels and fun scenario (like in a boat, fighting thugs on a subway using non-lethal force) 5. GREAT soundtrack, can't stop listening to it Cons : 1. Control is unoptimized, especially the mouse, it's not so smooth and make aiming harder 2. Bugs : sometimes enemy is stuck in doorway makes it harder to hit, dogs also spinning around on certain occasion 3. The game is harder and many of the areas are larger and took longer to complete. It's fine for me but I think it's a bit too much on some part that makes restarting the level tedious. Combined with unoptimized mouse control, this really hurt my hand. 4. Enemies can shoot from far away past our vision area, I think they should lower their vision range or increase ours. Some enemies are placed badly. 5. Thus, point 3 & 4 above ruins the game pacing in certain part. Overall, I really enjoy the game and will surely replay it again and again. Looking forward for the user-created levels as well. Btw, I'm using Windows 7 version and so far I experience no crash at all.
This is one of the coolest game in my childhood. I used to play this in my cousin's PS and my friend's PC. Spent a lot of time in their home just to play this game. Nice music, nice tracks, nice RC cars, clever AI, also user-created cars/tracks! Glad to see this on GOG :)
This game is fun! I bought it for the intergalactic alone. Gameplay is straightforward, shoot everything in sight. It's somehow similar to Tyrian with it's upgrade system, asteroid filled space, chaotic combat, and mission log before the level starts. Unlike most arcade shooters, our weapons are limited and charge based so we must know when to shoot effectively. There is also a turret ship that we can deploy for certain circumstance and aid. The game is pretty challenging even in normal difficulty, especially if we're trying to collect all the bonus. Boss fight is similar to Touhou and Raptor, we must dodge boss' weapon while attacking it. Graphics and sound are very nice for a simple game like this. If you like classic arcade spaceship game (and fried chicken), you should play this game.
I think Origins is the best Rayman (and platformer) game ever (so far). The first thing that usually attracts people is its amazing graphics. It has beautiful worlds, shiny visual effects, and lots of funny characters. It will look a lot more spectacular if you play it on large screen. There are a lot of worlds with different themes, such as jungle, desert, ice, culinary, mountains, temple, and sea. Each world has some levels with boss fight, bonus level, and some unique mini-game inside. We can choose between Rayman, Globox, and two teensies. Each of them has their own funny animations and moves that are very entertaining, especially globox's jiggly fat belly. The gameplay objective is pretty much simple, we rescue electoons, collect lums, fight the bad guys. In each world we will meet nymphs that will give us new powers, such as punching, swimming, and floating. The game is pretty hard but because of the good level design, visuals, and sounds, we will always have fun every time. Moreover, each level has their own unique design and you will be surprised with new things on every level. The soundtrack is so good. It has diverse range of sounds from exotic instruments (such as kazoo) mixed with orchestra, ukulele strums, and chipmunk-ish funny choir. This game will be a lot more fun (and hilariously chaotic) if you play it together with your friends. Plug in some gamepads and bring back peace to Glade of Dreams! A must buy game !
