I have to say this is perhaps the most I've been let down by a friend's recommendation in a long time. I have a friend who was so hyped for this game, and it's just... Eurojank on Unreal Engine 5. It doesn't even look that good. It's charmless, souless. It feels like if Eastern Europe made an Ubisoft Farcry game and then made everything feel bad. Performance is bad. Shaders cache on every startup. Movement feels bad. It's a false sense of motion. Menuing and UX experiences are terrible. This was supposed to be this awesome zonepunk game and it's not any better than say Metro Exodus. Even Pacific Drive did the genre with more charm. What an utter disappointment.
It's basically a board game with all dice rolls. If you got this like me expecting a grand strategy game of esiponage and counterplay... it's not that. It's basically a mobile-game quality virtual boardgame, and I don't think you can at least play it with other people though MP isn't my thing so I didn't look for it. Tries to be deep and sell you on this story about how new tech could change the face of the world, but you'll never see it. Give this one a pass, even at less than five bucks when I purchased it 80% off, it feels like I overpaid. I probably would have played this for free on my phone. It's just not worth it. It's all random dice roles, very little actual choice, and the game will even tell you're losing as little as one turn after the game starts because it's all just random faff.
