I spent soooo many hours playing this as a kid. Still has the tricky controls... but that is how old games like this worked. Love how they have both modern and retro modes. New graphics, sound, and effects are hilarious. Lots of fun! Minor nitpick....I wish the developers would add a V-Sync option. Had some sheering issues when scrolling and there doesn't appear to be anyway to fix it. Otherwise works great.
It's a shame the rating is so low on this game. It must be from all those early reviews when the game failed to live up to the hype But there is never been a better time to play No Man's Sky. The devs didn't give up on it, they they just kept making it better and better. NMS is a whole bunch of games in one. You can enjoy endless exploration, base building, a rich universe with a cool back story, trading, and some combat (although the later isn't it's strong suit). With the new Origins update... there's even more to see and do BTW, I've originally bought this on Steam and that's the one I've been playing.... but when I saw the chance to get a DRM free copy on GOG for 1/2 price... I couldn't resist.
I've been playing Descent for years... all they way since the 7 level shareware version of Descent 1 for DOS. The devs, Matt, Mike & company have really hit it out of the park with Overload. This is the real deal, it just feels like descent... but the graphics and pace are 100x better. BUY IT! NOW! * Only thing that can make it better... I someone will make a mod to actually rebrand it "Descent 4" and bring back the Pyro :-)
