Cyberpunk 2077

CDPR's worst game (I am serious)

In some aspects its amazing, but unfortunately these aspects are very shortlived. Quests can be fantastic, but they're never at the level of Witcher 2, 3 or Thronebreaker. All optimization and bug issues aside (which to be honest is about 15-20% of the game) the game is not nearly as tightly written as their previous titles. I'll give you the most blatant example, just coming out of Act 1, you JUST have a life and death moment with a certain character. You then exit the building your in, get in your car and suddenly get smashed into by a psycho AI car, no biggie, sounds interesting. Only for your V to then react calmly, asking the person WHO WAS JUST TRYING TO KILL YOU if they saw that you just saw. Are you seriously telling me no one in CDPR thought this was a glaring inconsistency STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PROLOGUE? Literally the first thing that happens is completely inconsistent with the tone of what immediately preceded it. Gameplay wise its meh, I enjoy the shooting but I don't love it. Its very very bullet spongey which makes me feel like I'm playing a worse off Borderlands, and its very loot filled which gives off Deus Ex Mankind divided vibes, only 99% of stuff is trash. The bit thats REALLY grinding my gears though is the AI. Fixing something like this isn't possible, because there's nothing to fix - the AI isn't broken, its not there at all. Why in 2077 would police chase you ON FOOT rather than getting into their cars? How do they suddenly spawn behind you after you commit a crime despite you being in the middle of nowhere completely alone? Why do the NPCs not only all look exactly the same but do exactly the same thing, which is absolutely nothing, when interacted with? I watched a guy walk up to a chinese food stand, only to pull out a pizza FROM HIS POCKET. There's so much more to talk about in terms of whats wrong with this game but I don't have enough characters left to do it. This game simply isn't good enough in its current state.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

Witcher fans rejoice!

Currently playing this on my Nintendo Switch aswell as owning it on PC, and I have to say - this game is an absolute delight. I did not expect so much content and only went into it wanting to improve upon my 'new gwent' skills, but found the story to be such a blockbuster. The animation, the music, the story, the characters, the lore, the puzzles, the destinations - all of it is five star. If you are a Witcher fan but not so much a Gwent fan, the lower diffulties at least will allow you to skip battles entirely without any punishment. Allowing you to still dive into the world and go on a fantastic adventure with Queen Meveand her associates. This is a must buy, seriously.
