DOOM + DOOM II

Just like how I remembered it

Its just like how I remembered it. Perfect remaster. Not overdone or underdone, just right. Quake remaster also done well. I'm looking forward to playing heretic and hexen remasters as well.

Crusader: No Remorse™

Good old game

FMV is slow on first start. I have to keep pressing enter to get past it. When I say slow, it looks as if I'm trying to run the game on a 80186. Also when I try to launch the game with cheats "-egg" for example, it just crashes.

Project Highrise: Architect's Edition

SimTower clone

Entertaining for a while. Quickly gets boring. This is vertical simcity whereas Sim Tower was more of an elevator simulator.

Might and Magic® 6-pack Limited Edition

Don't let the graphics fool you

I wish I was warned about this before I started playing, the game is entertainment equivelant of crack. Might and magic 4/5 (world of xeen) are absorbing my time so much. I only bought this for 6 and I haven't started to play 6 properly yet.

Locomotion, Chris Sawyer's

Underrated

Game as released on gog is not in a great form. It runs yes but resolution options are terrible. Alt tabbing sometimes leads to a crash. Download openloco to bring this game up to scratch. It is similar to the openrct2 project which brought more features to roller coaster tycoon.

Heroes of Might and Magic® 4: Complete

Give it a chance

I like it. All the negative reviews come from the fact gameplay was changed from 3. That is fine. It is a fun game in its own right. I took off a star because the game freezes randomly in a battle sequence. I have researched by this is and the general concensus is HoMM4 does not like multicore especially on Windows 10. Someone has released a so called for for this: https://www.gog.com/forum/heroes_of_might_and_magic_series/graphic_gl_wrapper_for_all_heroes_heroes_of_might_and_magic_1_2_3_4_and_chronicles_for_better_wo I turned off cold CPU as it still crashed (but less often) after using the dll, so we will see.

Heroes of Might and Magic®

Great Game

I cannot believe this game came out in 1995. It still looks great. I am not here for nostalgia. I first heard about Heroes of Might and Magic 3 when looking for an RPG to sink my teeth into. HoMM3 was so great I decided right, I want to play all of the classic collection. This is the kind of game you can pick up and play during lunchtime and stop when you need to. It is simple to play and hard to master.

Project Highrise

Provides many hours of entertainment

Yes, this looks like a worth successor to Sim Tower. Something to scratch that itch you had all these years because the original was more of an elevator simulator, we thought that was a problem. Actually it wasn't, that was the fun of Sim Tower. The elevators in project highrise are just teleporters. A massive building can get away with just one. The graphics are very generic, not colourful like Sim Tower. My biggest bugbear with this game is modding support. Steam has full modding support while this has none. All in all it feels like the developers have abandoned this game.

SPORE™ Collection

Lots of Exploration and creation

After all the DRM fuss has died down, I finally get to play a game I have awaited since first announced. I anticipated all the sim games brought into one with elements of Sim Earth, Sim life, Simcity and additional innovations. I got very little of that. The cell stage is interesting at best, creature stage monotonous. Tribal stage is just awful. Civ stage is another shallow stage. The game comes into its own in the space stage which can go on forever. You can still customize the hell out of your creature and creations which is good if you like that sort out thing. I think the online stage is what saves the game. Even though it is single player, being able to download and share creations makes it feel dynamic as you come across creatures created in someone else's world. Buy it. There is a lot to explore in this game including your creativity and the spore universe.
