Police Quest Collection

One of my most cherished games.

I've been gaming for over 30 years, ever since the ripe age of 12. One of the first graphical games that was purchased for me that I played on my 486. Spent hours playing PQ1, trying to figure out how to get out of my car which it was driving, and how to subdue that crazy guy in the park without shooting him. The old school Sierra classics are such nostalgia that provided me with such memorable experiences that I often think back upon then with fondness. No identity politics, no pandemics, no problems. These games were crafted by studios that understood the intricacies and idiosyncracies of gaming that made them memoriable and appreciateD by old school gamers. Worth having to play and reminisce.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition

One of the best RPGs of all time

The fallout 3 world is an incredibly vast, finely crafted world BRIMMING with surprises, missions, quests and history. You can play this game 100s of times over and chances are, you will find something new every time. It is so evident that the developers placed a tremendous amount of care, detail and effort in making this historical game. From the idiosyncrasies found in conversations, and quests, to some of the unforgettable missions, this iconic game represents the pinnacle of game development. This game's beauty is found in its music: the haunting soundtrack is one of the best in the industry. From Fallout's telltale theme to the sounds that perfectly accompany the landscape, it simply puts a bow on what is already for me an unforgettable & cherished experience. I love the ability to get distracted while on a quest by simply roaming the wasteland, coming across an NPC, and then being rewarded with a sidequest for my curiosity. This adds layers of complexity. You lose yourself in the landscape and become part of its history, in choosing certain paths that will unlock/ disable other paths. Myriad missions & side quests allow you to plumb the depths of the game's campaign and its landscape. The missions alone on Point Lookout with the Chinese espionage add intrigue and hours of gameplay. Fallout 3's immersive gameplay & environment make fir endless fun. Much has been rightly criticized of later Bethesda works (i.e. Fallout 76), but Fallout 3 will remain a treasure. We are in the middle of a paradigm shift in game development. Motion capture, evolving GPUs, higher CPUs all deliver unparalleled graphics in over 100 gigabyte installs. But lost in all of that graphical wizardry is the campaign, a casualty of an ever increasing demand of gamers with an insatiable appetite for multiplayer and FPS. For older gamers like myself, the lack of a well-written campaign renders gaming hollow in the end. I will forever be grateful for games like Fallout 3.
