No Man's Sky

a great open world exploration game.

I've read the reviews about how the game has no direction, No maps, Or compasses, And quite a few other things that just aren't true. There is a compass when your on planet. there is a map when your in space. there is a galactic map that shows where you've been. There are three main quest lines that direct you towards new gear, Or required glyphs that you need to use a portal. Or just to put you in the right direction. However, Every solar system has sub quests of their own, That give you rep, gear and money. At first you won't recognize the need for reputation, And just want to go have a dog fight in space. That's fine, But eventually the lore of the game starts to make sense to you, And you change the way you play. Or quit, And write a bad review. There are many shortcuts to wealth and power that you have to learn to exploit, Such as buying and scrapping ships for upgrade modules for your favorite ship. buying and selling cobalt at trade terminals will allow you to make a fortune fast, As long as you have the resources to make warp fuel. There are literally dozens of ways to get a lot of money fast. And if you don't like playing alone, Just turn on multiplayer, Or go to the anomaly, Those ships coming and going out of there are all human players embarking on multiplayer missions that anyone can do. I usually do them alone because their so easy, But sometimes i get paired with other people anyway. The game is actually a lot of fun once you learn to play it.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The Witcher 2

The story lines were very well done. The potion system absolutely sucks, There is no way to know if you need a potion buff, Until your in combat, And then your not allowed to stop and drink them. This is idiotic. You can only know if you need a potion after you have been killed? What genius thought that one up? The combat was very simple, Hit them fast or hit them hard, Roll away if you need to. And use a quen sigil in case they hit you. What i liked was the auto targeting made you attack another unit, Even if your camera was facing the wrong way at the time. The scenery was beautiful most of the time, But there were those moments where they used cartoons to fill in time. I thought that was cheesy. Especially after you watch the credits for nearly an hour, Just to see a tiny animation of the south attacking the north. That was lame. Crafting turned out to be useless in this game, Because the loot i picked up was better than the stuff i could make. Unless there were some hidden diagrams somewhere that i missed, But the game sometimes jerks you into a new area when your not ready to leave yet. And this causes you to fail a lot of quests that you were almost finished with. The game should have the option to return to an area if you want. So you can finish the quests. Overall I give this game 4/5 stars, Because even though it's a good fun game. The potions and crafting systems were not helpful at all. And because of the lack of free travel that would allow me to finish quests. But for the price, It's one hell of a game.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

The Witcher Enhanced Edition

While i found the story line intriguing, The game itself could have used some work on the quests. Many times you are given a completely useless bit of information that leaves you wondering what your supposed to do next, And the only way to figure it out, Is to go online and search. The days of requiring a website to complete ingame quests is long past. Todays games should make all information available ingame. But this isn't from today. The endless walking back and forth was unbelievably monotonous. The combat and movement are terrible. And the never ending talking, Every time i click an NPC almost drove me insane. Overall the story is interesting, But that's where it ends. This game was a complete bore 99% of the time. Maybe someday if i have the flu, And i want to play a game where nothing ever happens, Then i'll play this again. I give it two stars, For the story, And because it's so old that it would have been good in it's day.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Wow, What a ride! This game makes you want to coninue playing even when your too tired to play. The narration was great, The graphics are outstanding. Absolutely flawless scripting. And the terrain and objects were incredible. This is a game that you can replay for years, Or just continue finding more secrets. I had so much fun, That it's going to be hard to find another game that matches up to this one. I bought the whole set of games on sale, And I'm glad I did, That was great.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

I was expecting terrible graphics, And controls after playing Call of Juarez 1. Boy was i surprised. Great graphics, Excellent controls, And beautiful scripting, Made this a game to remember. The Civil War at the beginning was way too much fun to play. And as the game progressed it continued to impress me. I do have to admit, That the quickdraw controls were very hard to master, But i did complete the game, So it's not impossible. This is an excellent game to own,I will replay it.

In it's day this would have been a top contender among fps games. The game was enjoyable once i got used to the controls. However, The climbing system was horrible. Very glitchy, But I'm sure that was a limitation of the engine they used to produce the game. But once you have your feet on the ground, The game is actually fun to play. I did enjoy it, Even with the outdated graphics and controls.

Terminator: Resistance

GTX 1050? Give me a break!

Minimum graphics card is a GTX 1050?, And yet the game looks worse than the old halflife 2. I watched the videos of this game, And read the requirements, And i was shocked. What genius made terrible outdated graphics require a high end video card? Especially when most people don't even own a GTX 1050 or higher yet. I won't be buying this game for any reason. Especially with a forty dollar price tag on it. I might pay four dollars for it. But not a cent more.

Red Faction

Red Faction 1

I spent around three hours shooting my way through guards on this game. It is entertaining, Even with the ancient graphics. However, It has game breaking bugs that don't allow you to progress. If you make it to the sub bay after blowing up the geothermal plant, And have no explosives, your screwed! You cannot open the wall to get in the control room to lower the sub. There is no button on the girder to lower it either. At this point i'm just going to uninstall the game, Maybe someday i'll try it again, But i doubt it.

Dead Space (2008)

Deadspace Terrible player functions

I was really looking forward to this game, got past the input lag by disabling Vsync, And then I tried to get used to the cockeyed manner that the player moves with. I hated it. Then i tried firing a wep at a monster, It sucked too. The whole game feels like it's movement is shifted off to the side, And you have no real control over it. No ability to jump finally did me in. I absolutely hated everything about the way the players move in this game, wether it's shooting, running, or reading a map, it sucks. The graphics are really nice, Until you see the monsters, And they look like cartoons. Mostly though it's a pretty game. Do i recommend it? Absolutely not, Not unless you can stand playing perspective view games, This is not a fps shooter.
