Cube Escape Collection

A strange suspenseful mystery

I originally played this on Kongregate and most some a while ago so disclaimer as to potential changes. These games are absolutely one of the most interesting ones I've played. The puzzles are unique, making use of a locked room aspect often. The atmosphere is oddly relaxed for a game that has so many strange and disturbing elements. It mainly relies on a sense of suspense and curiosity as you search for answers (which often bring more questions). When I say it is psychological I mean it. At some points you go into people's thoughts, and your searching for answers to a mystery of WHO these people and why they act this way are, as much as what was actually being done. In some ways it's hard to describe these games. It is at times disturbing and confusing. The puzzles are rewarding, and often difficulr. Reincarnation is a big theme, and of course, cubes. The art is lovely with soft delicate colors balancing the odd nature of these rooms. Some mainly spoiler-free warnings, keeping in mind this is a game with horror/suspense elements. As the description says it's inspired by Twin Peaks. Note there are some moments of blood and shadowy figures. Sometimes an action will trigger something startling. Generally there's some sort of indication but once or twice it has mild jumpscares. (Something appears that you didn't expect and there may be a sudden piano note punctuating that, for example) Not anything too extreme in my opinion but you may want to play during daytime. However I think the delicate art style combats many of the more particularly gruesome moments.
