Silent Hill 4: The Room

Great

I haven't played this games before and not much of Silent Hill. The movement feels dated but the story is captivating and there are plenty of unexpected surprises that still have impact with the somewhat grainy graphics. The apartment level is to me particularly impressively detailed because while many of the rooms look similar, it's only as much as you'd expect in an actual apartment building, otherwise each room is it's own room. The story is in the imagery as much as the gameplay, leaving you wondering and imagining which helps bring the game to life beyond it's appearance. It's easy to miss the progression point and wander back and forth, or find that you were in the right place but simply missed the exact point of contact for the key item to be able to be used. While frustrating, I dislike this less than when things are too obivous. Bugs are few, the game runs clean.
