There are those stating that this isn't like the original Myst. Um. They're referring to a Myst remake. If you, like me, first played Myst as released in 1993 then it is spot on except for the character models. Putting that aside it's beautiful. Beyond what I could have imagined as a child first playing the game 20+ years ago. This is a great achievement. I mean, consider this. So many classic games do not get this sort of loving remake or life in the future. It's fantastic to connect the development from the original to this version. This is pretty much as the game should be. Going back to the character models however, I do hope and expect Cyan to change that in future. It's clear that they dropped the ball. There should be an update to this version that at least includes better models. I'm confident they'll do that once they read these reviews.
I also come back to this game from time to time. It falls into a category of gaming I feel I can play on a chill morning with coffee. Doesn't require twitch reaction. You can sit and plan your moves and its in-depth enough to get your attention.
