Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! - Spud Tales: Journey to Olympus

Half-baked

This doesn't add anything to the original game's mechanics, and to be honest, it isn't even really that good from a "more of the same" standpoint—you're stuck in one area with only four locations including your shop, and fewer "normal" heroes per location than you got in the regular game. Add that to the very small number of story objectives, and it gets pretty repetitious pretty fast, forging the same weapons over and over again to train your smiths (or sending them out to train) so that they can finish the final objective on the first try. If you really enjoyed the original game's potato puns and comedic story, this DLC does okay that way and you might get an hour or two of entertainment out of it, but consider carefully how much you're willing to pay for it.

Rise of Industry

Linux version seems unstable

This game crashes very easily on me, usually when paused and unattended. The debug trace suggests it's doing really nasty things to libpthread (seriously, when's the last time you saw a game create 68 threads? Even if some of them are overhead from Mono, that sounds like a recipe for a programming nightmare). I also find it gets jerky after you've been playing the same world for a while. That being said, I have gotten a few hours of entertainment out of it, and while it isn't the most brilliant entry in the management sim genre, I think it was worth the sale price I paid for it. I wouldn't have bought it at full price, however.
