Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

It's pretty fun and it works

This version works fine on my modern windows 10 PC. Some frame drops that seem totally random, and not at all based on what is currently displayed on screen, but not too often. As for the actual game: the first quarter of the game is quite interesting, but it quickly devolves into a mediocre shooter. I think the game would've been much more interesting with an ammo economy, but instead they just shower you with ammo and some infinitely respawning enemies. Not a bad game if you like shooters of this era, but nothing I'll remember forever

UnderRail

Incredible game

About 50 hours in, nearing the end of the main quest line. Still a fair amount of side quests I can go back to, and I haven't touched the expansion yet. Absolutely amazing RPG so far. Combat is usually my least favorite part of CRPGs, but in Underrail I look forward to combat. It's challenging and fun while remaining grounded. The dialogue is well written, and I found even unimportant characters memorable. So far I like the plot, but admittedly even 50 hours in and almost at the end, I have no clue what's going on with the main conflict. It appears the game intends to reveal everything all at once at the end. Both main factions are so secretive it borders on annoying. Anyway this game is probably gonna end up being my favorite CRPG. Top 3 easily.

Cyberpunk 2077

Unrealistic expectations

Very good RPG over all. Good characters, very good dialogue. Aside from Disco Elysium this is the only other RPG where I don't hate having a pre-determined character. Good amount of choice including secret choices that you can discover by just playing the game intuitively and watching it respond. Biggest downside is I wish they included companions, seems wasteful to have such good characters then only see them during quests. But honestly the AI is so terrible they probably wouldn't work. The game's way around bad AI is to just teleport NPCs during races, when you get police wanted level etc. But that really is the only major downside for me. Aside from the odd graphical bug I didn't have a bad experience performance-wise on an RTX2060, Ryzen 5 2600.
