Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition

Freezes entire PC

The game will freeze the entire PC (can't use keyboard to alt+tab or taskmanager) periodically. I'm sure its a fun game but wont reccommend it until it gets fixed; searched online, people are having the same issues to no avial; one metioned that upscaling set to ON will allow you to exit once it freezes. Still its unfortunately defective getting refund.

Disco Elysium - The Final Cut

One of the most in-depth RPG and yet

Its like it's the wrong format for the amount of litearcy work put into it. The die system/rpg elements just doesn't do it justice for the amount of lore, persona's, and charater development and physcological mediums. Its too fatal too binary and lacks certain dynamics to fully indulge the game without the inconveniences, its just hurts the replay value to rework the dialogues and "walk" the areas over again. It may have been better as a visual novel setup like a case study board allowing to entertain ALL dynamics until the perfect formula is found. Otherwise I did enjoy it.

Mad Max

An ok game

30hrs in Pros: What I do really like is the acheivement system for leveling in place of XP grind, I think its a great idea!! I like the atmosphere and design but they need to beef up the background music a bit more. Cons: Theres alot of things thats ruins the momentum of the game and incentives. First off the easter egg hunt blowing up fuel tanks is aggrevating to hunt down. Theres really no point taking alternative routes to get into the camps Animation slow interaction animation such as eating dog food or worms is just annoying. Just auto pickup. The combat is nonsync so when you parry or finisher you're vurneable to other incoming attacks; its not like batman arkham or shadow of mordor series; but otherwise passible Theres really no good incentive (as far as I can tell) to complete builds for camps when one is complete you can just fast travel to refill. You might as well just take over other camps to get the passive income on scraps and complete the threat level for upgrades. And why would I want other vechiels when the main vechicle has all the gagdets? Hence I really haven't given Death Races any attention, I'm suprised there isn't any derby death matches either?? Overalll I think this kind of game has potential but mostly its just a time killer.

METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE

A fun ride!

Over the top cinematics and gameplay. I don't see the point of stealth though

Turok

Good game, like the original

Couple differences between the n64 and PC; no toggle run/walk and some level design differences; otherwise plays as well as I remember.

The Suffering

Bad port

Charaters will go out of bounds/ predetermined path; crashes and hangs on reloading checkpoints. Not entirely playable.

Gothic 2 Gold Edition

More for the nostalgic and determined

This release as some issues with resolution adjustment, you'll have to install mods (e.g. DX11) to fix this, visit the forum here or go to worldofgothic. There are also texture, shader adjustments mods available to give it a better look, however I'm unsure of repercussions, I got a outofmemory volilation error which killed my save and well I discontinued playing it. About 10 hours in review The game for its time is pretty neat, theres no hand holding, fend for yourself, which i can appericate, but thats also a double edge sword. Progressing in this game seems abscured at times. Its probably best to review a walkthrough to get a better sense of what the game is implying. I think there are some "pitfalls" in games progress. So an example, I was applying for apprentice of hunter. He requires 6 wolf pelts. However I've ventured out and already killed most wolves in that region. The bodies fade and the enemies dont spawn (until the next chapter on higher level. I think). Furthermore you can only have one proffesion out of the hunter, lockpick?,smith, and alchemy as far as I can tell the masters will not train you there on out. This is why I think it would be best to review a walkthrough at least to get you started. There is otherwise a good "harshness" and critical thinking to it though, You can be confronted by a thug that'll beat the crap out of you for your gold, should you venture in a shady area or trespass. You can venture out the wildreness and the animials will beat the crap out of you. You can talk to somebody wrong and they will beat the crap out of you. And yes the combat is wonky, but it has it intituitve design based on the time of open world game pioneering (my opinion its better than Morrowind's sodding combat). It offers a mouse free control experience, this is somthing a laptop gamers can benifit.

Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders

A great game for its time

This is a prequel to one of my favorite games KUF Heros when I was a wee lad. Mind ya this one has it's quirks, the steer of the troops is almost like naval ships, the waypaths can get the troops siezed up if your rough with it and graphics has shown its age. However this gem has some innovating mechanics I've havent seen in other medival war games. There are means of strategic playablity and yet a counter balance of beat'em up senseless.
