As a long time fan of this game, I was thrilled to find out that it was finally added to the GOG library. Like many of you, I was saddened to find out several Windows upgrades ago that my original CD's would no longer work properly. I'm thinking this happened sometime between Windows XP or 7? In any case I have waited well over a decade to be able to play Star Trek: Armada and I am so happy it's on GOG! I have played this game with no issues other than I do notice some minor graphical imperfections that wil occasionally come up. I'm not sure if the publisher will release updates for this, but as someone has stated, you can look up the Star Trek: Armada Patch 1.3 project to alleviate this and even get HD resolution. One thing that is missing is the original artwork that would be displayed during installation. I will miss that but the game play is exactly the same. Point, click, and select what you want to do. Star Trek: Armada is one of those simple RTS games that brings us back to a much less complicated time where you can just enjoy a game without having to resort to watching a Youtube video.
