9th Dawn III

Best game you never heard of

If you can get past the quirky graphics, the game is absolutely fantastic. Skills level as you use them in a style similar to Runescape and there are a good amount of them to level up. You can tame monsters, play an in game tcg, fish, cook, craft weapons and armor. The game is surprisingly deep. Most importantly for me. It isnt restrictive at all. If you want to break the game you can with enough effort. I had some amazingly powerful tames pretty early on because I levelled my fishing so high in the second town that I had gold just flowing in so I could buy bait and traps at will. It took a good chunk of time but it was really cool to see there were no artificial restrictions in place. If you are on the fence then definitely jump in. You won't regret it

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Gold Edition

My favorite Warhammer game

This game does is my favorite Warhammer game ever. I played it back on the 360 and I’m going to sink way too much time into it now that it’s on oc. Instead of giving a super lengthy review, I’ll make some bullet points of the stuff people probably want to know. - Why play this over total war? Well, because total war is total war war. That’s that. Total war is fun, but it’s just a Warhammer paint job. This game actually brings a lot of elements from the table top to a video game which hasn’t been done before or since. - So skirmish doesn’t work? Actually, it does. It was fixed pretty much immediately when the game came out. No one has updated their reviews but skirmish works great. - What can you expect from the game? A tactical strategy game that follows a lot of table top rules. Heros aren’t unstoppable like total war. Throw a hero into a bunch of troops and he will be dead pretty quickly. You can lose 3/4 of a unit from a good artillery shot. Positioning and making good use of your units is everything. Heros are very important but they aren’t gods. Their abilities can put a big dent in enemy armies, but enemy armies can easily kill your hero if he is caught out of position. Battles are normally a little shorter than total war because units aren’t damage sponges. A good attack hurts and a good defense is a necessity. - I love total war Warhammer so I want to try this. Should I? Probably not. This game was definitely geared more toward the tabletop players at the time. Total War has none of that and for casual strategy fans, that’s probably for the best. Look at Mark if Chaos as more of a tabletop game but with real-time movement as that’s essentially what it is. If you are all about macro, then it’s almost pointless to get anywhere near this game. When it came out the reviews were all garbage because it wasn’t what people expected from a strategy game. I recommend looking up some gameplay. It’s a great game, but not for everyone
