The evolution from the previous game reminds me of what you can see if you compare Donkey Kong Country 2 with the previous one. The mechanics are much more polished and it’s much more harder. The first Dishonored is an easy game even in the hardest difficulty levels, but Dishonored 2 requires you to be a more talented player if you want to surpass it at least in hard mode. Is Dishonored 2 a better game overall? Yes, but it has a huge problem with optimization, so you can see stuttering and other problems with the performance even if your computer more than meets the system requirements. Dishonored 2 uses the Void Engine, a modified of Id Tech 5, probably the worst 3D engine developed by Id Software.
The most immersive and deep game I ever played. The first playthrough can be not very impressive, but if you explore carefully, you will discover tons of little but shocking details. By other hand, every playthrough is different from the other. Just make two different decisions in any area of the game and you will have a very different experience as you progress through the game.
The atmosphere and the situations you face are very good, and as you can see in every good immersive sim, you have tons of possibilities. However, the controls are one of the most horrible things I've ever played in a 3D game. Seriously, the controls seem a strange mix of an old PlayStation One game with 8th gen components if you play Weird West with a controller. The horrible controls force you to face all the situations with enemies stealthily because of it's very difficult to fight against them, so the immersive sim experience falls apart and it becomes a pure stealth game. After overcoming the first story, I uninstalled the game. I bought this game because Prey is my favorite PC after Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2, but it seems that Weird West was too big as a project for the development team, that it was composed by some people who worked in Prey from Arkane Studios.
