Just I need FIVE seconds to buy this. Absolutely fantastic and classic what every action-game enthusiast must play. Game's itself are a simple conversions from console editions, so there are only basic option for a PC playing. Playing with keyboard is almost impossible, gamepad, even the cheapest one is a total must have.
OK, I just tried this game and I have really mixed feelings. On one side, it's still the good old Lara with overhauled textures, models, and graphics. However, the controls feel clunky, and there are strange object collisions, reminiscent of the original TR engine. All the classic tricks work perfectly, suggesting that somewhere in the RAM memory, a part of the old TR engine still exists. But... is that all? The intros are merely upscaled, and the sounds remain the same with some added filters to enhance dynamism. I'm struggling to see the purpose because after just 5 minutes, it feels like I'm playing the same old TR. There's nothing new or fresh. Even for die-hard Lara fans, it's hard to deny that all the mechanics in the game are pretty outdated, especially in the first TR. The overall difficulty, with a lot of backtracking, makes it challenging to enjoy the game unless you have prior experience with the original and know what to expect. Overall, it's a nice addition for TR fans, but is it really necessary? The pricing leaves me feeling like someone is trying to scam me. At this price point, I expected episodes 1-5 or, at the very least, some additional features like challenges, skins, or insights into how TR was made – something to cater to the current generation. The questionable EULA is another point of concern. It seems like Aspyr was banking on easy cash. If they release another remaster with 4-5, I'll wait for a price drop before considering it. What Lara truly needs is a new adventure in the old-fashioned style. Perhaps on the Switch, it could find more success than on PC. Now, excuse me, I'm going back to the original TR4 :)
