Combat can be clunky but there are also moments where it's really cool. Story is pretty good to the point where I'm at. IMO it has really stepped up on what I think is the 2nd or third night (can't remember exactly which one and don't want to spoil anything by being more specific) I do get really terrible frame rate drops at times regardless of settings. I am on a laptop 5070 with only 8GB of vram but this should not be happening. Yes, sidequests and stat building elements are very lacking. If RPG means filling in dots on a sheet to you then there's really none of that, you just unlock abilities. Actually my biggest complaint: NO MANUAL SAVES. Only autosaves. If this weren't a game I've been waiting 20 years on this would be a deal breaker. It's 2025, respect my time and let me save whenever and wherever

This game is one of my earliest PC gaming memories. Despite the existence of the browser version, I always knew I would buy this the day gog added it. I honestly never expected that day to come, but I am so glad it did. The aspect of the game that holds up best is probably the atmosphere, especially the soundtrack. If you're a fan of point and click adventure games, I'm sure you will love this game, but I'd seriously recommend it to anyone based on the music and the visual representation of the ship. It's really haunting to walk around all alone knowing most everyone around you is doomed and being accompanied by music that can be downright creepy at times. The game isn't terribly long, but there are a few different endings, so it is worth replaying.

I actually still own my physical copy of this. I started playing again earlier this year and was reminded, like I always am, why this is one of my favorite games of all time. The most fun for me is getting into the scenarios and seeing how I can shape custom coasters around the scenery. The early scenarios are pretty open to let you get used to how to build.
