Fun game, though I died more in this game than any other game I've ever owned, which sometimes had me howling at the computer out of sheer frustration. But I always kept coming back.... The early part of the game is really tough! My advice: read up on tips and tricks before playing this game, and get a hold of a partial walkthrough of the beginning, at least. It will definitely help avoid some of the most frustrating aspects of the game.
Plenty of fun for the price (I think it was $5 or $6 when I bought it; can't remember). The graphics are surprisingly good (I'm playing Gothic right now and Arx is hands down better and more smooth) and the game is quite interesting and difficult. Positives: - refreshingly different magic system - lots of easter eggs and interesting bits - great atmosphere, music, and surprisingly good graphics Negatives: - sometimes the puzzle aspect got a little wearisome; be prepared for lots of trial and error (and death...man I sure died a lot in this game) - can't queue up enough magic spells, and casting on the fly is quite difficult - voice acting is pretty darn lame There's no character development at all, and the plot is quite linear, but as a dungeoncrawler it is a lot of fun.
