I had this game on my backlog for a long while. Finally I was able to play it. I almost ended up regretting it. I would if it weren't for the gripping story, bizarre characters and weird humor in this game. I want to say that I rarely enjoy horror games as I get really jumpy. Like the last horror game similar to this I played was Resident Evil 3: Biohazard on PlayStation and I didn't play it by myself. Anyway, the game draws some parallels with cult classic TV show called Twin Peaks. The soundtrack and sound design is amazing. I love it. There are about 40 side quests in the game most of which I couldn't bring myself to do because the game crashes randomly. I pretty much rushed through it. Combat is not the best but you get used to it. I dare say it's fun actually. Head shots is the way to go. Driving is worst at the start. It gets better if you do a couple related side quests. Also, you need to watch your gas while driving. There is also eating, sleeping, shaving, changing clothes in the game. They have all related bonuses to gameplay. The inventory and save systems are similar to that of Silent Hill games. Level design is fine. Graphics are ok. I have to say I have used a couple of mods to beautify the game though. The colors look so washed up in this game. I used a shader mod for this. It was fine at first, actually it made the game look so much better, but later in the game at least in two instances it made the game so dark it literally became unplayable. I couldn't see anything and passed those places by luck. I couldn't reverse it since I didn't back up the original files, so I don't recommend messing with the shaders. The biggest problem with this game is the map. It has a zoom in/out function but it can't zoom out to be of any help to you. I had to use a map I opened up on my phone in the web to check the directions often. Also, there is supposedly a fast travel function tied to a side quest which I couldn't do because the window to do it is very small.
I used to play this game in a cyber cafe when I was a teenager but I was never able to finish it. Now, years later I could buy this here and play it to my heart's content. First let me tell you this. This is the only Larrry game I've ever played, so I won't be able to compare it to other titles. The game revolves around Larry Lovage, the main character, trying to woo the girls at Walnut College where he is also a student. There are lots of fun mini-games and brilliant and funny dialogue. While I didn't find the story particularly engaging the humor pulled me in. You collect secret tokens in the game by either activating various objects throughout the game or achieving perfect in mini-games. Later, you can buy new loading screens, concept arts etc. eith them. You also win money and use them in some story missions or mini-games. The mini-games are not easy by today's standards btw. The controls get a bit getting used to but they are fine. You cannot control the camera with right analog stick, LT and RT buttons give you side to side cam controls while on keyboard and mouse you have free camera control with the mouse. The graphics style is cute and cartoony which I like and it still looks fine. I find most mini-games easier to play with a controller except taking photos mini-game because of limited cam controls on the controller. The voice acting is superb. The game is also uncut and uncensored like it promises in the title. If you want some laughs with a side of boobies, I recommend you this game.
