Cyberpunk 2077

Huge, Massive, Impressive Undertaking

I will not offer exclusively praise for this game. That is mostly what I have. This is a truly massive and impressive creation. As a developer myself I am in awe of what this game has done. With that stated it should be noted that there are bugs. Surprisingly less than I was expecting after reading some reviews. Though they are present. With the sheer scope of this world in terms of what is going on as well as the massive number of gameplay systems wrapped up in this open world I am not surprised by these bugs at all. I am sure if they could have kept pushing back release on this without blowback from some customers and shareholders alike then they eventually could have released it mostly bug free. As is, the bugs that are there can typically be recovered from simply by going to an auto-save, or a manual save. The game is great. The story is fun. The world is alive. I'm over 30 hours into it as I write this and haven't finished the main quest line yet. I also have a wall of side quests, and gigs available to complete. With that said there are some things I'd like to see fixed. I agree with many that the driving clearly is geared towards a gamepad as it seems to expect some kind of analog turning. This means using keyboard it can be really touch and go when it comes to driving. So much so that I've avoided quests that were things like races and such. I knew I'd be bouncing off of guard rails, pedestrians, and other cars and not be able to do things. Another issue is their dodging. To dodge you double tap in a direction. This also takes you out of sneak/stealth. You can do this accidentally and currently there is no way to change that. On a PC I'd rather hit another key or even hit CTRL or something and the key to dodge. That way when I am sneaking up behind someone I don't accidentally suddenly leap forward and lose any progress of stealth. There are also some really weird animation glitches with companions on quests.
