Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition

Finally, yes!

There was one game that has kept me locked on Steam and that was Fallout 4. While Steam is all nice as a library, I prefer to not have DRM in my games as recently a bug of 'cannot verify ownership' errors have started to occur with Ubisoft games. I did not even blink twice fetching the GOG version of this pup. I presume that CK does not work on the GOG version of the game, but if we got it to work with Skyrim, we get it to work with FO4 too. I am sure the actual game reviews have been posted 100 times over by other people since 2015 already. It is a good game but comes with all the classic Bethesda weaknesses and strengths. My Steam shows 1500h on this game, and twice as much in Creation Kit. He, he... but Starfield, when? ;)

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Heads up about MAKING mods.

I was told by a BGS employee, when I shared my happiness on GOG version, the following : "Although the CK can't work with the GOG version, so if you want to mod you'll need to use Steam. The GOG version should generally be fine for using mods, just not making them". So those, who aim to make mods which require Creation Kit , unfortunately might need to reconsider.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

2022 and DLcs are still "unknown"

Apparently buying DLCs is useless, if they do not work. They used to work some time in past, but no longer do. With or without galaxy install with galaxy or offline. No fix. DLcs are NOT playable with or without galaxy client in 2022 March.

Cyberpunk 2077

8 hours later

It runs ok, it looks ok, it runs decent fps on my 760 and all, but oh alas... Oh alas... The good - the visuals, the vibe, and the art and atmosphere. I have to say I am huge supporter of GOG and CPR, as well am Deus ex fan so I had everything set to be biased in favour for this game. I was ready to get my Deus Ex vol2, just better ... However this was not the case. All this favourable bias I had did not carry on long. Once you land on your apartment and start focusing on game after the intro it all falls flat... So where to start ? 1st the voice acting. male V (English) sounds as if he is reading news on CNN. Dry and cold. There is huge discord between action and the characters emotions. In RPG you should be able to feel synced with your character, but no... not V, he is not here. The talents and perks are all over the place and then you have your items level locked. Combat in general is so super-awesomely bad - not only I am forced to use key binds unnatural to mouse/keyboard combinations in most games and muscle memory, but your weapons hit and target everything, but your target. Vehicle control makes driving a car a massacre of bystanders. After a while I started to prefer walking and fast travel. I am kind of player, who can overlook some technical issues if story is engaging. There are several bad games I enjoy and here comes my biggest disappointment. CP is just very boring game narrative wise. It does not grab attention, it does not make you curious. So it starts from disconnecting me from my character, it also does not offer me story that would suck me in. CP2077 is one of the dullest RPG/action games I have played recent years and I did play fallout 76 this year ... And if you get compared to fallout 76 narrative wise, then you know you have messed up. Overall I expected more from the long wait. Maybe after patches and fixes I give the game a 2nd go, but now this game was not for me. Better luck next time CPR.
