I own the CD for Outlaws but it never runs properly on Windows 7. Now it's finally on GOG and it runs perfectly on Windows 7. Outlaws is an FPS set in the Wild West. The game is basically the formula for fps games back in the day. Search for keys to unlock doors all while blowing bad guys away with an arsenal of weapons. This game has THE best soundtrack in video game history. Listen to it for yourself. Now it may sound like a standard fps but it has somethings that other fps games lacked at the time and even lack today. The shooting is very satisfying and the weapons are really fun to use. Especially the shotgun. Wait until you get to the train level and use the shotgun to blow the criminals of the moving train. The levels are large and open. My personal favorite level is the sanctuary. It's a large town with saloons, funeral homes, banks, museums, jails, and many other buildings. The cutscenes are handdrawn and they are very fun to watch. I highly recommend this game. Where are you Marshall?
1. Penumbra Overture, is the first game in the fantastic Penumbra series. It takes place in an underground facility and you and a mysterious man named Red are the only ones alive in the place. The only other things alive are rotting-zombie-like dogs and creepy little spiders. This game only had one thing that bothered me through out the game and that was the combat. The combat is very clunky and hard to get used to. Other than that it's a great game. 4/5 stars. 2. Penumbra Black Plague, is the second and best game in the Penumbra series. This game is a masterpiece. This game is much more terrifying than the first game. Infected now patrol the corridors of the facility. There is a great twist later on in the game that I won't spoil but it's great and quite shocking. If you didn't like the combat in Overture than you'll be happy to know that the combat is absent in Black Plague. It is possible to kill the infected (throw objects at them a bunch of times) but I don't recommend doing it unless you want to test it out but other than that, don't do it because it will make the game easier. Overall, it is the scariest Penumbra game. 5/5 stars. 3. Penumbra Requiem, is the third and most different in the Penumbra series. It is like Penumbra meets Portal. Solve puzzles to advance. It still maintains the creepy atmosphere of the first two games. It's a cool expansion and fitting end to the Penumbra series. 3/5 stars. Penumbra is one of my favorite video game series of all time. Black Plague is definitely in my top 10 video games of all time. If you like to have fun all while being scared, solving puzzles, and exploring then the Penumbra Collection is perfect for you. I highly recommend these game.
Duke Nukem has been around since the very early 90s. It wasn't until Duke Nukem 3D that he became a video game icon. Duke Nukem 3D is an incredible fun game. It is better than most other shooters from the 90s and is better than most shooters today. Duke Nukem 3D remains a classic.
Psychonauts is a brilliant game! There are so many things I love about this game I don't know where to begin! Okay let's start with the humor. The humor is great! It's everywhere! The characters look funny, the dialoge is hilarious, the cutscenes are goofy, and the game is hysterical! You can punch and even use your powers on someone and they always have something funny to say, especially Ford Cruller. Talking to characters is fun too. One of my favorite parts of the game is exploring the campgrounds. It's huge! The levels are fun but can be frustrating at times. Buy it!
Seriously, this game is one of the best games I've ever played! It's fast-paced, gory, violent, intense, and most importantly fun. Sam "Serious" Stone is a great protagonist. Similar to Duke Nukem but less vulgar but just as funny. Serious Sam has some of the most bizarre enemies too. The most iconic being the Beheaded Kamikazis. They are headless enemies that wield one explosive in each hand and scream the now iconic "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" The game takes place in Ancient Egypt, but the levels don't get repetitive since they can take place in tombs, dunes, oasis, etc. it never feels too similar. The weapons are really fun to use (my favorite being the portable cannon ball launcher). Overall, this game is amazing, seriously.
