I downloaded the game while it was on giveaway (thanks GOG) not knowing what to expect. There are not many 2D side scrollers that I enjoy or play often but I was pleasantly surprised! Within the first 30 minutes of playing the game, I knew right away that I had just stumbled upon a hidden gem of a game! For a 2D game, the graphics are cute and unique. Characters are well made and expressive and textures look great! The game's overall main story line is OK, but also a little generic and simple. Dialogue between characters and enemies are a bit cheesy and could have had some more thought put into it, but with this game its easy to overlook that and still enjoy the game for what it is. I also kind of like the simplicity of the dialogue that doesn't get you trapped in a seemingly endless string of dialogues. It's easy to get right back into the action if you are not digging the characters, story or dialogues. There is tons of action that progresses in difficulty as the game goes on. Many challenges sprinkled throughout the game that does a great job of adding difficulty without also causing rage. A lot of weapons to chose from as well as spells that are fun to use. Combat is simple and fun! I'm still fairly early into the game but overall I am impressed and surprised at how fun of a game it is. It's a great game to play simply for the fun of it, not so much one of those games that you get very wrapped up in and invested into the story or characters. It's a great game to pick up and play for a while between other games or as a break from other games. I highly recommend this game to anyone, whether you are a fan of this genre or not. Like I said, the 2D and side-scrolling genre is not typically one I play very often, but I am so glad I gave this one a shot!!
