Firstly, I am a long time gamer and played Unreal when it came out in the late 90's on a 233MHz PII. That being said, whatever wrapper (or not) GOG used works to run this classic game on my Windows 7 corei7 box - but gamesaves don't save! There's no way to finish the game unless you play it straight through. Sadly, I can't recommend this game with 5 stars (great value, graphics, ease of install, nostalgia) without a working savegame function. This problem has been mentioned repeatedly on GOG and other UnrealGold forums (about the GOG version) and there's no solution.
